Village of Lixouri, Kefalonia
The second largest village on Kefalonia is Lixouri. It can be found 30 kilometers west of Argostoli and is home to 3,000 inhabitants working in agriculture and tourism. Lixouri is situated around the bay of Argostoli and overlooks the island’s capital. There are regularly scheduled ferries connecting the two villages. Lixouri is built on the site of the ancient city of Pali, which was one of Kefalonia’s four principle cities during Antiquity. Don’t forget to visit Neraki Beach while visiting Ios. This small but charming beach sits on the northeastern part of the island above Agia Beach Theodoti. Neraki Beach is a sandy beach with small pebbles. It’s a natural beauty and a great place to enjoy amazing views of Paleokastro and Agia Theodoti.
