Navagio Beach is one of the most popular beaches on the island of Zakynthos. Known as Shipwreck Cove, this beach sits on the western side of Zakynthos and can be found near Anafotiria village.
You may have seen the shipwreck in photographs, as it is one of the most captured images in all of Greece. The landscape combined with the natural beauty makes Navagio Beach a top beach in Greece.
The beach was once called Agios Georgios but had its named changed to reflect the shipwreck of 1983. The ship was transporting illegal cigarettes and washed ashore. As the years passed, sand surrounded the shipwreck and it now appears that the ship is bursting out of the sand.

You will see pieces of the shipwreck in the middle of the beach as you walk its white sandy shores and enjoy the view of the crystal waters. The beach itself is encircled in white rock cliffs giving it a fantasy quality.
To get to Navagio Beach, catch a boat from Porto Vromi. The small water taxis depart every hour and the trip takes about half an hour.
